Undergraduate students who are eligible for Graduation with Academic Honors will receive honor cords free of charge at commencement.

Bachelor's and master's graduates

Bachelor's and master's graduates must order regalia online for shipping. The ordering website will open in January and the deadline to order regalia has been extended to April 24 through Herff Jones. A limited stock of regalia is available for purchase at the Bobcat Store (bookstore) on the San Marcos Campus.

Hoods

The hood (worn only by master's and doctoral graduates) is a black shell, silk-lined in the color or colors of the institution conferring the degree. Check with your program to verify the color, which signifies the field of study the degree was earned, not the academic department.

Doctoral candidates and faculty

Doctoral graduates and faculty must purchase or rent their regalia directly from our vendor, Herff Jones.

  • Rental deadline for doctoral regalia is April 9.
  • Rental deadline for faculty regalia is April 9.
  • Purchase deadline for doctoral regalia is March 14 to avoid expedited fees.
